"4 Earth-Friendly Baby Boutiques" by Amanda Freerksen | 5.18.2016

"At this shop, owner Meri Brice seeks to create a shopping experience based on building community with other families. Stop in to find a treat for your little one or to attend one of their special events held throughout the year. Dads can look forward to a Father’s Day event coming up in June, and anyone in the family can join the before-hours wellness event series held right in the middle of the store. While our first two picks focus on gear for babies and toddlers, this coastal boutique has a lot to offer older children as well. Check out their wide selection of fresh and modern clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Insider’s Tip: You’ll find plenty of parking at The Lumberyard. You can’t see the shop from the street, so park in either lot, and head toward the two-story building. The shop is on the bottom level."

"What advice do you have for local mothers?
There are so many great parks as well as endless playgroups to fit every mom. MOPS is really big around for the more experienced mom. Getting started I would join a stroller strides group to test out a few different types of groups.

What types of events and promotions do you run in your boutique?
We host several annual events. Our Magical Mothers Day is always a huge hit as is the Winter Wonderland Holiday Bash! We sponsor trunk shows and host Doll Parties. With the move to our new location this summer we look forward to adding even more Magical events."

"Best Children's Toy Stores in San Diego" by Felipe Benavides | 12.9.2014

"Let your children run free inside the Magical Child. Magical Child in Encinitas features a cute little "town" set up in the middle of the store where kids can pretend and play. While some of the items here are a bit on the pricey side, you might feel better purchasing local handmade, eco-friendly toys and organic cotton clothing for the little "magical child" in your life.

"Out-of-the-Ordinary Toy Stores in North County" by Debbie Anderson

Located in Encinitas on the S. Coast Highway 101, Magical Child ells eco-friendly wooden toys, Waldorf toys, and children’s books. With its charming collection of quality play items and clothing too, the store is a nice place for uncommon gifts for kids. There’s also a play town in the center of the store to entertain (distract?) kids while you shop
